Born in Mauritius in 1967, Mode 2 spent his childhood in the tropics, before moving to London in 1976. While punk was in its infancy, reggae and dub formed the soundtrack of his South-South neighborhood. East London. After finishing his school exams in '84, Mode 2 began hanging out in Covent Garden, the epicenter of London's hip hop scene. His drawing talent led him to adopt the marker and spray paint, and Mode 2 quickly made a name for himself within The Chrome Angelz crew.
